We had so much fun celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this past weekend. This is my favorite picture from our wedding weekend and it always makes me smile when we walk past this mural in the square.
We started our festivities at the Kendall Hotel, where we got engaged and stayed for our wedding. Unfortunately, we didn't realize their restaurant is still not open. We usually get a drink there and we were pretty disappointed but we turned our frowns upside down by stopping in Catalyst for drinks by their fireplace. It was really fun to be inside a restaurant again. (We decided to sit inside because it was fairly empty and we were spaced pretty far apart from other people.)
After Catalyst we headed over to the Commander, where we got married, for a staycation! It was so fun to not be in our living room!
After dinner we headed out to walk around the square and over by the river. It was so nice to be out and about in the city again. I've really missed doing things like this. While we were walking around we saw an ad for the first live show at the A.R.T. theater in their return. I was so inspired, and the ART has a vax and mask policy, that I scooped up two tickets for Sunday.
The next day, we headed into the Seaport to go to the ICA. We thought we had tickets to a special exhibit but we were wrong. Oh well. It was still really fun being in a museum again and being down in the Seaport on such a beautiful day.
We found a new restaurant we need to try.
Since the weather was so nice, we stopped by the Paris Creperie in the Seaport for drinks and a snack. I love this spot. It has a real French bistro feel with the round tables and how it's tucked away in a pedestrian way. They had a fun cocktail menu and the crepe was pretty good.
On Sunday night we headed over to the A.R.T. to see Chasing Magic, a dance show featuring tap dancing. The minute we walked into the theater I was overwhelmed with emotions. I have so missed the arts these last 18+ months. I dealt with almost everything else pretty well but not seeing theater and dance and art really was tough for me. This show was mesmerizing. This was the perfect show to see as a return to theater because it had dance and music and sound all in one. The A.R.T. is a small theater and it made the whole experience even more exhilarating.
After the show we decided to extend the evening by getting a drink at Longfellow's. The bar wasn't crowded so we felt like it was ok. The cocktails here are so good and I'm so glad it survived. It almost felt like we were living our old life. It felt great to be City Vicky again!
