What's Your Alibi?

The weekend started off great with a quick trip to Alibi. We were meeting friends in Harvard Square at 7:30 so we didn't have much time, but we did want to take advantage of the beautiful weather. Lucky for us it's only a short T ride away.

Ever since we went a few weeks ago with friends I've really wanting to go back to try out the outdoor patio. It was the perfect setting to start such a busy weekend. I'm already trying to figure out when I can go back. We had dinner at Trata and met up with friends for drinks at Daedalus. Two of my favorite places.

I spent the rest of the weekend at the 2010 North East Regional Baton Twirling Championships. Lucky for me the contest was being held in Cambridge. Every so often someone shows up at a contest that you haven't seen in forever and you get to spend a few minutes catching up. Such was the case today when I ran into someone I used to compete with. In the course of our conversation she said to me, "You look great. Life must be treating you well." She's definitely right. Life is treating me well!

These Are the Weekends to Remember!

This was one of those weekends that was flawless from start to finish!

When I got home from school on Friday, JO and I raced over to Harvard Square to enjoy the sun that was finally breaking out from behind the clouds. We wanted to enjoy one last "us" Harvard Square experience before he goes back to work tomorrow. The Square was still pretty empty for a Friday and it was just so relaxing! We headed over to my secret spot in Harvard Yard to work on our Utah National Parks trip this summer before heading back to Inman to have dinner with our friends.

Saturday morning I headed into the Square for my morning coffee and to read a book. It happened to be move out day for Harvard University. It was so different than my move out days back at Stonehill. These kids had U-Hauls, police details, professional moving boxes, dolleys, etc. It was kind of fun to watch.
I headed back into the Square in the afternoon with my friend for some quality relaxing! First stop Origins. If I could I would buy one of everything they sell! It was a bit early, but we were hungry and there was an open outdoor table at Border Cafe. After dinner, we realized it was only 6:30. The only solution- keep enjoying the Square.

We were lucky again when we scored an outdoor table at Charlie's Kitchen! It was so nice to spend the evening with someone who knows exactly how you feel. We toasted to our awesome "Cambridge Life!" A perfect Cantabrigian night!

Today, JO and I decided to play Boston tourists. We hopped on the T, got off at Charles MGH, and started on our urban hike. First stop, Beacon Hill. I love walking in this area because my parents lived in an apartment on Beacon Hill when I was a baby. See... I was born a city girl!

From Beacon Hill we headed over to Faneuil Hall for lunch at wagamama. We even had table side, perfect for Boston tourists, entertainment.

After lunch we hit up the Aquarium to watch the seals and catch a 3-D, IMAX movie on the Hubble telescope.

We ended the day in Christopher's Park on the waterfront sitting on our blanket reading. Much of this time I spent laughing out loud at Jen Lancaster's new book My Fair Lazy.

The fun part of playing tourist, is knowing that you can come back any day you want! I'm looking forward to many more weekends like this in the future!

Live the Life you Love, Love the Life you Live

Last weekend when we were at May Fair I bought a cute, navy blue track jacket. I wasn't planning on buying anything at the Fair, having just paid for my plane tickets for our summer trip to Utah, but I just couldn't resist since I loved the logo on this vendor's (Hooked Productions) products so much. The jacket says, "Live the Life you Love, Love the Life you Live."

I wore it a bunch this week since it's perfect for spring and every time I see that slogan I feel so validated. I do live the life I love. I love the city life! I do love the life I live! I love the city life! I love my Friday nights at Legal Sea Foods outdoor bar and trying out new restaurants like Cambridge, 1. I love the freedom I have to explore. I love the convenience of living in a neighborhood that has virtually anything I could need within a 5 minutes walk. I love looking out my window on "goat delivery day." I love going for a Charles River loop walk or grabbing coffee in the Square and reading a good book.

It took me so long to get here, but I'm finally here and I'm not going anywhere for a long time!

(Now if it would just warm up!)

So Thankful to Live in Cambridge

We are the only place around with clean drinking water because we have an independent system. I loved this article! Glad to see our neighborhood get a little recognition!

Barbeques and May Fair

This weekend was filled with such great weather and multiple opportunities to enjoy it. Friday night we hit up Bukowski's for dinner. It was a great night for walking around the neighborhood.

I got a jump start on my summer ways on Saturday when I went into Harvard Square for my morning coffee. I started doing this a few years ago and it's something I treasure. I walk into the Square, grab an iced coffee, and sit in Harvard Yard reading a book. There is this great spot in front of one of the libraries that has patio tables and chairs. This is such a great way to start off any morning. It's so peaceful there and lots of shade. This is something I do almost every day during my summer vacation, so it was nice to be able to sneak one in before the end of the school year. Hopefully there will be a few more :-)

Saturday night our good friends that live in our neighborhood had us over for a barbeque. They have a really nice backyard and a grill :-) It was such a relaxing evening and hopefully there will be more of these delicious outings in the future.

Today, JO and I hit up May Fair in Harvard Square. May Fair is an annual fair sponsored by the Harvard Square Business Association. This is probably my favorite event the Square puts on each year... especially when the weather is so nice (although it was a bit hot today.) There are great vendors selling all kinds of clothing, jewelry, art, and food. There are also 3 performance stages and a "Chalk on the Walk" display. We had such a great time and ended the afternoon by completing our monthly toast with some delicious BerryLine. Check out Harvard Square for more information on all of the events they sponsor throughout the year.
