On Friday night we headed up to Portsmouth, NH to visit a few good friends. Cambridge and Boston have so much to offer, but it's always nice to venture out and visit another city.
I think of Portsmouth as an over-sized Harvard Square. It's filled with tons of great restaurants, shops, and boutiques. As an added bonus, the beach is just down the street. The only major difference is the lack of a local college. The local colleges in Cambridge and Boston definitely give the area a certain type of energy you don't find in Portsmouth. Not that that is a bad thing... it's just a different feeling.
We hit up Ri Ra Irish Pub for dinner where we had the most attentive waitress I have ever met. I especially enjoyed when my friend dropped her fork on the ground and the waitress swooped in out of no where with a new set of silverware... before my friend had even gotten up from trying to pick up the fork. After dinner we went to Cava. What a great place... I loved the downstairs bar. It had some really beautiful stonework and the selection was quite extensive.
The rest of the weekend flew by as usual. At least we're one week closer to April vacation... and March Madness is just around the corner!!!
