Since "Patio Season" was delayed we decided to check out Casa Cana in Allston, where we stared wishfully out the window staring at their patio complete with fire pits. The food was a bit of a hit or miss but the atmosphere was great and the mojitos were tasty! (Plus, the patio does look fabulous.)
After dinner we headed over to Our Father's for some gin cocktails! Our Father's is a great place to hang out with friends.
I got to see Mayor Pete speak in Somerville and he was amazing! He is truly an amazing candidate and the Democrats are lucky to have him in the race.
On one of the rare "not rainy" days we went on an urban hike since it was too rainy to go real hiking.
We also hit up a few shows by some of our favorites.
Mark Erelli, Zachariah Hickman, Dinty Child, and Dietrich Strauss played a spontaneous show at Passim and it was fabulous!
Lula Wiles played their only local show for a while at the Second Friday Coffee House in Belmont. It did not disappoint!
We did manage to go on a few real hikes, even though the weather was freezing and the views were all dreary so I didn't take any pictures. It felt good to get some miles under our belts!
John Harvard's in Harvard Square announced it was closing at the end of the month. It's a special spot for us since we had our first date there and our rehearsal dinner there. We stopped in last Friday for one last visit.
On Friday night we headed over to Bow Market in Union Square to participate in the Rose Resistance! Rebel Rebel Wine Bar was donating all the money from rose sales (not just profits) to the Yellowhammer Fund to support women in Alabama who need access to abortion services. It was packed and over the course of the weekend they raised $12,000 for the fund.
Macaroon snack! |
And of course, the first not rainy, not freezing spring night called for a fluff cone at Gracie's!
I'd like to think May is over, but there's still two more weeks. How are there still two more weeks??? Asking for a teacher friend 😉
