This was one of those weekends that was flawless from start to finish!
When I got home from school on Friday, JO and I raced over to Harvard Square to enjoy the sun that was finally breaking out from behind the clouds. We wanted to enjoy one last "us" Harvard Square experience before he goes back to work tomorrow. The Square was still pretty empty for a Friday and it was just so relaxing! We headed over to my secret spot in Harvard Yard to work on our Utah National Parks trip this summer before heading back to Inman to have dinner with our friends.
Saturday morning I headed into the Square for my morning coffee and to read a book. It happened to be move out day for Harvard University. It was so different than my move out days back at Stonehill. These kids had U-Hauls, police details, professional moving boxes, dolleys, etc. It was kind of fun to watch.
I headed back into the Square in the afternoon with my friend for some quality relaxing! First stop Origins. If I could I would buy one of everything they sell! It was a bit early, but we were hungry and there was an open outdoor table at Border Cafe. After dinner, we realized it was only 6:30. The only solution- keep enjoying the Square.
We were lucky again when we scored an outdoor table at Charlie's Kitchen! It was so nice to spend the evening with someone who knows exactly how you feel. We toasted to our awesome "Cambridge Life!" A perfect Cantabrigian night!
Today, JO and I decided to play Boston tourists. We hopped on the T, got off at Charles MGH, and started on our urban hike. First stop, Beacon Hill. I love walking in this area because my parents lived in an apartment on Beacon Hill when I was a baby. See... I was born a city girl!
From Beacon Hill we headed over to Faneuil Hall for lunch at wagamama. We even had table side, perfect for Boston tourists, entertainment.
After lunch we hit up the Aquarium to watch the seals and catch a 3-D, IMAX movie on the Hubble telescope.
We ended the day in Christopher's Park on the waterfront sitting on our blanket reading. Much of this time I spent laughing out loud at Jen Lancaster's new book My Fair Lazy.
The fun part of playing tourist, is knowing that you can come back any day you want! I'm looking forward to many more weekends like this in the future!
