City Girl Cafe and Paint Night Boston

The end of the school year ran me over like a Mack Truck.  I had been suffering with a lingering ear infection and to top it off I caught an awful spring cold, or a plague as I called it.  The last day of school was a blur to me.  It was so hot and I was so sick.  When the day was over I was thankful to still be standing.  I cranked the AC in our living room and passed out on the couch.  JO and I usually go out for dinner on the last day of school to celebrate but not this year.  I was pretty much out of commission for four days.

By Thursday I was feeling slightly better but it was raining so we decided to hit up City Girl Cafe.  We don't come here enough.  It's a two minute walk from our house and a cute little cafe with a very friendly waitstaff.  My current favorite dish is the fettacuni with a lemon, shallot cream sauce with pancetta.  It's the perfect bite!  Although it wasn't the celebration I was planning on and it worked.  We had fun reminiscing about our dinner there during the blizzard.

While I was sick I spent a lot of time surfing the internet and I stumbled upon Paint Night Boston.  Basically, it's like the Paint Bar or Urban Art Bar but literally at a bar.  There was a Groupon for admission so I decided to buy one and check it out.  I signed up for the fireworks painting at Yoshi, a sushi bar in Central Square.  I had a lot of fun at this event and even bought another Groupon to go again.

Starting out

Evening sky in place

Water

And now we have buildings

Fireworks!

The final product
The best part, I could walk home with my painting!  No cab or car for me!
