I try very hard to limit my March calendar to just basketball, but when we heard Mark Erelli was going to play a show at City Winery, and Lori McKenna was going to open we just had to go.
City Winery is basically a Club Passim on steroids. I love the lighting and decor, modern without distracting from the performance area. Even though the space is big it's still very intimate and you feel very connected to the performer. They specialize in wines and the cava did not disappoint. The only downside was them running out of both desserts we wanted to try.
Lori McKenna was amazing as usual and did a great job setting up Mark's performance. This was the album release party for Mark's new CD of covers. He did an amazing job. It was truly magical and our friends who went with us (who had never seen him before) agreed.
JO and I are already looking for opportunities to go back.
