By the end of October we were definitely hitting our "city living" stride. It felt great to be back out enjoying dinner and drinks around the city. On Halloween weekend, we headed over to Harvard Square to enjoy an upstairs downstairs evening.
We first grabbed drinks at the upstairs bar at Longfellow's. This is the prettiest bar in the city. It's a perfect mix of washed out brick, huge window overlooking the square, circular marble bar, and gem and jewel tones that somehow perfectly compliment the rustic wood elements. The drinks are fantastic and expertly made. (I've really been enjoying my cocktail photography lately!)
We were planning on staying there, but a bar crawl, that must have definitely been lost, roamed in. Longfellow's isn't exactly set up to handle a slam of people dressed in chicken suits and batman costumes. The bar got crowded and the bartenders couldn't keep up, so we decided to head downstairs to the bar at Alden and Harlow to continue the evening. I've been on a bit of a French 75 and pisco sour kick and both were delicious.
