I woke up Thursday tired and snow stressed. How could we be getting another blizzard? JO and I walked over to his car and along the way joked that we would find his tires slashed. The night before we had parked his car in a spot that had a chair in. Space saving is not allowed in Cambridge. We were quite dismayed to find that JO's tire had in fact been slashed. It was 7:05 and I wasn't sure how I would get to work. I started running towards Central, while frantically trying to check on the status of the trains. The T hasn't been all that reliable lately, but I was super lucky. My commuter train was actually on time and I just made it. I got to school on time and JO was able to get his tire fixed at the auto shop in our neighborhood.
I'm really disappointed in this crazy display of snow vengeance. My neighborhood is not like this. We pitch in together, we help each other.
Needless to say, when I returned home, after an hour on the bus with a screaming baby and two women who thought it was perfectly fine to listen to music videos on their phone, I was in a bit of a bad mood. We ate dinner and I was still in a big funk. That's when JO suggested we swing by Puritan and Company for a drink.
I'm so glad we did this. It was nice to catchup with our bartender. We swapped shoveling stories and talked about the next storm. It was nice to be reminded that we are all in this together!
