Spontaneous Night Out

I drove my car for the first time in ten days this past Friday.  JO was finally able to free my car, just in time for the second blizzard of the year.  When I returned from school on Friday, JO was shoveling out a spot for me.  That's city love for you :-)

We decided to go out to Koreana for dinner, even though it was freezing.  During dinner JO mentioned that he wanted to go to Lord Hobo.  I'm sure this was because my car was parked down by that bar.  Even though it was freezing we decided to get out of the neighborhood.  Unfortunately, Lord Hobo's was super crowded.  We were both kind of at a loss, because we didn't want to venture to far.

That's when inspiration hit, and we decided to go to the Belly Bar in Kendall.  We grabbed two seats at the bar.  I love spontaneous nights out.  No plans so nothing can go wrong.  The Belly Bar was on my summer bucket list but it's also a great winter place.  The lighting is soft and their are pretty views of the patio area, even when it's filled with snow.

We sampled a few different wines.  I loved both of the sparkling wines I tried.

On the way home we marveled at what it feels like to walk around the city now.  You kind of feel like you are in a canyon.  Everything seems claustrophobic and don't even get me started on the killer icicles.  There had been a lot of improvements due to snow removal that day, but we knew that wouldn't last long with the blizzard coming the next day.

You couldn't even see the street
