I love my neighborhood. I hope that's more than obvious if you've been reading this blog. One of things I love most about Inman is the way it actually feels like a neighborhood where people know you. That comes from the fact that Inman is smaller than the other squares in the city and it functions like a city within a city. We have everything you would need right here- dry cleaners, urgent care, hair salon, post office, hardware store, a grocery store, craft stores, nail salon, and tons of restaurants. (I don't know why I put dry cleaners first, I mean the urgent care is probably more important but apparently I love the convenience of a dry cleaner across the street.) We used to have a few neighborhood events, Halloween in Inman and Shop Inman but when the neighborhood business association folded they ended which was sad. I'm really thankful that the East Cambridge Business Association took over and created the Inman Eats and Crafts Festival, celebrating the great restaurants and art community of Inman Square.
The food portion of the event works on a system of "Inman Bucks" which can be purchased and then traded in for samples from various restaurants. JO and I happily spent our bucks on sandwiches from Puritan, tacos from Ole, cold brew from 1369, and so much more. After listening to some music, we took a stroll around the craft tables. JO got an awesome Inman Square shirt and I had fun looking at the paintings and jewelry.
It was a beautiful day for our neighborhood!
