Boston Ballet's Swan Lake

Back in the summer Boston Ballet started promoting their production of Swan Lake.  During September and October I kept seeing ads for the show everywhere I looked.  I love the music of Swan Lake, and I hadn't been to the ballet in ages, but I kept putting off getting tickets because they were a bit pricey.  Finally, JO convinced me to cave.  I knew I would regret it if we missed the show so we splurged on some tickets for a Thursday night performance.

We grabbed dinner at one of our favorite's, Teatro, before the show.  Teatro is the perfect place to grab dinner before a show because you never have to worry about the meal running long.  I've raved about this place in the past for it's ensemble waitstaff.  Your glass is never less than 3/4 full for even a few seconds, let alone a few minutes.  It had been a while since we had had dinner here and it was nice to be back.  The food is so delicious and so affordable.

After dinner we headed over to the Boston Opera House.  The architecture in this building is stunning and it really makes you feel like you are somewhere special, with lots of history.  We were a bit early so we headed to the downstairs bar and grabbed two champagnes before heading to our seats, which were really good.

The ballet was beautiful and dramatic and just perfect!  I was totally caught up in the costumes and choreography.  We had so much fun that just a few days later JO and I bought tickets to the Nutcracker!
