This year marks the 45th anniversary of the landmark Title IX legislation. To commemorate the event, Radcliffe College and WBUR hosted a panel discussion on the topic. When I heard former Husky legend Swin Cash was going to take part I new I had to find room in my crazy May schedule to attend.
The event was extremely well attended and State Attorney General Maura Healy was also on the panel. I enjoyed hearing each panelist discuss how far we've come in women's sports but also how much more work still needs to get done. I also loved that I was able to walk to and from this event. There is always so much going on in the city and I love that I can just make it fit into my schedule. If I lived in the suburbs coming to see this panel would have been such a production. I definitely need to keep an eye out on more events like this one to take advantage of.
