Day 120~ Excitement in the Square

Something amazing happened yesterday.  JO and I left our apartment to get some ice cream at the Snack Shack and we were greeted with the most amazing sight.  The Inman patios are all up and fully functioning.  You can now eat outside at Highland Fried, Frida, The Druid, and 1369 Coffee!!!!!!!!!  All of the patios are really well spread out and the restaurants went out of their way to make the patios look pretty!  For the first time in a really long time, our neighborhood looked alive.  It gave me hope, even though there's not much to be hopeful about lately.

Most of Thursday was spent scrolling through endless posts about school reopening plans.  There's a new Facebook group for Massachusetts teachers to share their thoughts and feelings.  It's really comforting to know that I am not the only one feeling this weird confluence of guilt, nervousness, acceptance, confusion, apprehension, and fear.

A friend posted this set of questions and I almost started crying when I read #4.  I hadn't even really thought of that.

I have been enjoying the UConn humor.

And then there's this~ sports aren't going to happen.  (Fingers crossed for college basketball but I've already made contingency plans.  If there's no season, JO and I are going to relive one of the championship seasons.)

And of course, I have my sweet Denali to keep me calm!
