Day 146~ Dad Zooms

This summer my dad was supposed to go to the Jersey Shore for a reunion with his high school friends.  Obviously the trip got cancelled but his friends decided to have a mini-reunion over Zoom.  My dad could not believe how easy Zoom was and loved seeing his friends.  (He even got a haircut for the occasion.) I'm so glad my dad was able and now he can see he's Zoomed.

After the Zoom call I made an emergency stop at Target to stock up on PPE.  There was a chance the decision from last week to teach remote would be changed to hybrid and I wanted to be prepared.  With lots of districts making decisions this week, Target is about to get obliterated.

Does this look like a functioning society?  The answer is no!  If hand sanitizer, wipes, and cleaner aren't readily available, then maybe, just maybe, we aren't ready to go back to school.  I expect my district to provide me supplies to use while I am in school, but I need to be responsible for things like sanitizer and wipes for when I'm traveling to and from work.  Plus, I want extra stuff for use in my classroom.  I left with a 36 count of wipes and three bottles of hand sanitizer and a feeling of defeat.

Tuesday was also highlighted by an amazing act of defiance by the women of the WNBA.  Kelly Loeffler has no business being in the Senate or the a co-owner of a WNBA team and the players let her know it!  I am so impressed with how the league is using it's platform to advocate for change!  Keep it up ladies!

And finally, remember this from an episode of SNL after the election.  How prescient this seems now.
