The start of this school year has been filled with lots of days off. We had two days for Labor Day and two for Jewish holidays. It was really nice to have lots of breaks and time to catch up on life stuff.
On one of the Mondays off the weather was gorgeous. I was planning on staying at home and doing school work but I couldn't resist a city outing. First, I headed into Harvard Square for one last morning coffee and reading session in Harvard Yard.
After that, I headed to Newbury Street to walk around. My original intention was to do a little shopping but the weather was so nice and the patios looked so inviting that I just had to find one to have lunch at.
I headed down to Il Pitini Wine Bar and was happy to find a few open tables on the patio. The food is really good here, and really well priced. The patio is relaxing. It's also the kind of patio that you step down into so your below the sidewalk level. The hustle and bustle of the street is blocked out a bit.
It was so fun to treat myself to a city day on my day off. I'm trying to take advantage of the days off more. We'll see how long that lasts.
