Shut Down Day 6

I've lived in Inman Square since 2008.  The longest I've gone without going out and enjoying my neighborhood was six days, back when I was super sick over Christmas vacation several years ago.  I think I've made it abundantly clear on this blog, I have never taken my city life for granted.  I know how lucky I am to be able to live here and to live this lifestyle.  I miss my neighborhood so much.

Day 6 was a slow day around here.  I did my arm weights and went for a 5k.  We have (had) plans to go on a big hiking adventure this summer and I'm going to keep training like it's going to happen because it gives me some focus during the day.

I also got some assignments posted for my class and saw some of them interacting with each other online, which made me smile.

Clearly, I'm not meeting the standard when it comes to mircrowaving spagehetti o's

But I did win the side dish award today (growing up, my mom used to make this "gourmet" pasta salad and counted it as a vegetable)

I have to say, I'm getting frustrated with how many people I'm still seeing out and about.  I know I went for a run but that's different (we avoided all people and were out for only 30 minutes)  than walking down the street dressed as a dinosaur, or walking down the street in big groups.  I live in a progressive, well informed city.  If this is happening here, I can't even imagine what is happening in other parts of country.

Denali and Rainier continue to nap like champs.  I mean, look at that tongue hanging out!

When this is over, I hope we all remember that we live in the most powerful country in the world and our hospital workers are going to the craft store to buy materials to make medical supplies.  One local hospital is seeking volunteers to sew masks for them.  This is not ok.  When he says this snuck up on us, it didn't.  We could have been prepping for a few months.

And final thought~ how long before Sanjay Gupta rolls up to CNN in his sweatpants, eating ice cream out of the carton?  This man is a true hero, working constantly to get proper information out to the American people!
