Day 50 Oh My

Wow!  We've hit day 50.  That's a lot of days to spend inside my apartment.  I spend most of the day in the living room.  Thankfully I haven't gotten too sick of it yet, but it is weighing on me that going back to normal isn't really a thing we're striving for anymore.  I still struggle with feeling sad about the state of things across the country.  It didn't have to get to this point.  It didn't have to get this out of hand.  And then you throw in the crazy protests in Michigan and I'm really starting to lose faith in humanity.

(Side note- we have a pretty nice weekend forecast here and I'm actually frightened about the choices people will make because of that.  There's nothing I'd like more than to have a patio lounge crawl but I know the only way to get out of this is to act responsibly, and I will do my part, but I really wonder if others will do theirs?)

There were some highlights, including an amazing InstagramLive Chat between Megan Rapinoe and Joe and Jill Biden.  A few things really struck out for me.  First, Joe Biden started his conversation by saying how in awe he was to be interviewed by Megan.  I think it says a lot when a man, especially an older one, shows that he respects female athletes.  I think it's wonderful that Megan is using her platform to get out the vote for Joe Biden.  Megan was a hardcore Elizabeth Warren supporter.  It shows that you can strongly support a candidate in the primary and then shift to the nominee when your person doesn't win.  I also think it's great that Joe Biden took the opportunity to participate in this conversation.  It's important for him to reach across all mediums, to all demographics.  The other big takeaway for me was when he talked about how teachers are expected to be mental health counselors and content teachers with little to no support.  That is so, so true and it's nice to know that he understands or at least is aware of this situation.

While I was on Instagram, I got this notification.  (I can't get over the word "may") Do you think people in other countries get these notifications?  Of course they don't, because their have universal healthcare!!!

I finally got my Palm Springs package.  I've always wanted to learn more about the history of architecture in Palm Springs and now with all of this time I find myself with, I figured I could get started with it!

And finally, we have something to look forward to on Saturday.  Parlor Sports is going to have a Zoom call for some day drinking!  I miss Parlor Sports so much!
