Day 71~ Spring has Sprung

After a lot of school work over the past few days, I made a point of finding time to read a book.  I've had Untamed, by Glennon Doyle, loaded on my Kindle since it came out a few months ago.  I had the chance to see Glennon speak at an event back in the fall.  I had gone to the event to hear Abby Wambach speak, and she was great, but I was completely enraptured by Glennon, who also happens to be Abby's wife.  Glennon had such a mesmerizing way to weave metaphors into big statements on life and living life to your fullest potential.  I've read so much of this book over the last few days and I can't recommend it enough!  (In my normal life, reading a book in May wouldn't even be something I would could imagine doing.  May is my third busiest month, behind September and December.)

It's time all of us became the goddamn cheetah because we deserve it and we can do the hard things!

Both JO and I were feeling pretty wiped from our run the day before, so we opted for an evening walk.  The weather was perfect and if this was our old life, we would have been sitting at a patio somewhere for sure.  Our original plan was to go for a walk and head home for dinner until we found ourselves walking by a Mexican place in Union Square that we love.  We decided to risk it (we have really been trying to limit take out) and get some enchiladas and have a picnic.  We took our bag of delicious food over to Prospect Tower and enjoyed a beautiful picnic.  It's these moments that have really made me treasure my experience during this lockdown.

As we begin to open back up, I think it's important to remember that we locked it down late.  Things could have been very different if we had leaders who paid attention, listened to science, and you know, did their jobs!

And I'll leave you with this adorable picture of Denali!
