Our state's stay at home orders expire on Monday. The plan for moving forward hasn't been released yet. We have no idea what to expect. There's a push by some local representatives to extend the orders through the rest of May. I happen to think that's a great idea. It would give us two more weeks to really plan for the re-opening, and it would keep things locked down over the Memorial Day weekend. Less temptations the better around a long weekend, in my opinion. I also don't think a regionalized approach will really work because it will just cause more movement.
Since it's pretty obvious JO won't be returning to the rock gym anytime soon, he bought this rock climbing strength board. He's going to use the stud finder this weekend to install it. Yay! 😱
Despite the tornado watch yesterday (because 2020 needs more), the weather was gorgeous. It definitely would have been a patio night for sure. I was joking with JO that we should take our dinner over to the parking lot across the street and have a picnic. JO said he could do better and he did!
It was such a sweet gesture and was just perfect! We both remarked about how relaxing it was and how happy we were both feeling at that moment.
Isa Burke was playing a livestream on Club Passim which added to the moment.
It was so nice to just sit and stare out the window. This quarantine time has really given us a chance to slow down and appreciate the little things. In our old life we would be rushing around, looking for a patio that had a table, thinking about if we should stay or go somewhere else to extend the evening, etc. I loved those nights but this change of pace has been good for my soul.
After dinner, we enjoyed some mojitos while we watched the storm roll in. The wind was crazy!
And then we watched a documentary on Hugh Kaptur, a famous Palm Springs' architect. I've decided I'm going to educate myself on Palm Springs architecture. I feel like that will be a fun project!
