Captain's Log~ Day 23 (I guess I wasn't really done with catchy titles)

It's been cold, rainy, and gloomy here which is not a great back drop to a quarantine.  Saturday was still chilly, but the sun came out, so JO and I decided to go out for a run.  We decided to run to Harvard Square because my supply of sea salted caramels was running low and Cardullo's was still open.  (I know this does not qualify as an essential need but we practiced safe social distancing and wore masks in the store.)

Our run also took us through Harvard Square.  We ran past the Coop and the Harvard Bookstore.  It was really chilling to see darkened bookstores and kind of hit me hard for a moment.  (Also, side note, I'm in the best shape of my life right now~ between the weights, yoga, and runs I'm in prime hiking shape and hopefully I can get on a mountain soon.  Spring hiking season is fast approaching and I missed it all last year because I was sick.)

I spent a considerable amount of time on my island and was able to create this spa room in my house and I'm pretty darn proud of it!  I think I rocked it with that fountain in the middle!

I also spent some time working on this awesome coloring sheet a loyal 1369 customer shared.  If I can't be out in my neighborhood, I'll just have to color it.

My favorite Saturdays in Quarantine tradition, is tuning in to Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird's Instagram Live at 9:00pm EST.  They even gave their IG Live a name~ A Touch More!  These two talk about sports, daily life, politics, and so much more.  I love watching them because they are genuinely so happy together and genuinely care about their fans and their community.  To UConn fans, Sue Bird is a treasure.  She is one of the most loved Huskies of all time and we all want her to be happy.  Seeing her with Megan and seeing her really embrace her public persona has been really great to see.

We tried this new beer, I didn't love it, but I thought the name of it was pretty spot on for the times we are living in.

And now, on a more serious note, I can't believe their are actual political figures in this country (yes I'm talking to you- Governor of Georgia, Mayor of NYC, and the president) that are trying to say that they didn't know the virus was transmittable by asymptomatic people until the last 48 hours.  This is such a LIE and it's disgusting.  We've all known this.  This is not new news. I didn't hug my coach goodbye the last time I saw her because I was worried I could have the virus and give it to her.  I knew this back in January when I bought masks!!!!  I can't believe these people (well I can believe it but I am horrified x 1,000,000 that there are people falling for this crap) are trying to lie like this. Our government is literally trying to kill us to keep the economy propped up for the rich.  They don't care about us.  Imagine if we all started wearing masks a month ago.  Imagine if we all went in to lockdown a month, even six weeks, ago.  Imagine how different everything would be.  Then, file that image away and fight like hell in November to get all of these people out of power.  It is not ok!
