Day 25~ A Beautiful Spring Day in the City

Monday was a perfect spring day.  The sun was shining and temps were in the low 60s.  In my normal life, we would have headed straight for a patio drink and dinner.

Since these aren't normal times we decided to enjoy the city in a different way.  When JO was done with work, we drove over to the MIT area (finding parking was a breeze since they aren't enforcing meters and no one is out and about) to start a run into the city.  I had the idea to run over the Mass Ave Bridge, something I have always wanted to do but never have, to see the magnolias on Commonwealth Ave.  When the magnolias start blooming, you know spring is right around the corner.  Just because we are in a lockdown, doesn't mean we have to miss all the beautiful parts of spring.

Just for fun, I led us a route that let us take a "Left on Boylston."  I'm never going to run a marathon but at least I can say I took a left on Boylston during the quarantine.

Things I learned today:

*running over the Mass Ave bridge is super fun and I need to do this more often
*running through Back Bay is awesome and I should do this more often
*changing up your running route makes running a lot more fun
*the magnolias look beautiful, even when the world is falling apart- stop and look at the magnolias
*having more time means I get to experience the city in a new way and that's something to be thankful for
*the city is as beautiful as ever!
